Man says he was injured on faulty car wash drain

Carwash

HUNTINGTON -- An allegedly defective drain has prompted a lawsuit in Cabell County.

Michael E. Christian filed suit June 12 in Cabell Circuit Court against Wiggins Central City LLC.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, 2012, Christian brought his vehicle to a car wash owned by the defendant when he stepped on a defective drainage gate and was seriously injured. The defendant had a duty to maintain its premises in a safe condition, should have warned the plaintiff of the dangerous condition and was negligent in permitting the dangerous condition to exist, the suit states.

Christian is seeking damages in an amount to reasonably compensate him for his injuries and damages.

He is represented by Huntington attorney Raymond A. Nolan of the Nolan Law Firm. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
