CHARLESTON -- A Beckley woman is suing after allegedly being injured in two different vehicle accidents.
Kristy A. McGhee filed suit June 26 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Parsons Contracting LLC, Jerry O. Wheeler and Louis Yancich.
According to the complaint, on July 3, 2012, the plaintiff was stopped at a red light in Kanawha City, when her vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle driven by Yancich. The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to maintain his vehicle and following the plaintiff's vehicle too closely, the suit states
McGhee also bring suit against Wheeler and Parsons Contracting for a vehicle accident which occurred Sept. 5, 2012, in South Charleston.
In that incident, the plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle at a stoplight on the Kanawha Turnpike when a truck driven by Wheeler and owned by Parsons failed to slow down and stuck the rear of the vehicle McGhee was in, the filing states. Wheeler is accused of recklessness and negligence and Parsons Contracting is accused of vicarious liability.
According to the filing, the plaintiff suffered severe injuries, medical costs, permanent impairment, mental anguish and a diminished capacity to enjoy life from the incidents.
McGhee is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages, costs and other relief the court deems just.
She is represented by Charleston attorneys Robert D. Cline Jr., Robert A. Campbell and Letisha R. Bika of Farmer Cline & Campbell LLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
