Putnam man alleges injuries from surgery at St. Mary's

HUNTINGTON – A Putnam County man alleges he experienced medical complications following an ablation procedure at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.

Darrin Scott Turley alleges he underwent an ablation procedure May 30, 2012, and soon thereafter began to experience complications, including bleeding around the incision.

Defendant Dr. George Joseph failed to respond in a timely manner to address the issue, according to the complaint filed Aug. 29 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Due to the incident, Turley suffered damages and injuries and lost wages, the suit states.

His wife, Jeralisa Turley, was deprived of her husband's care, society and services, the complaint says.

In their complaint, the Turleys seek a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus other relief the court deems just.

Steven M. Bragg of Barboursville will represent them.

Circuit Judge Jane Hustead has been assigned to the case.
