Woman blames Dollar General for injuries

MADISON – A Boone County woman is suing over claims she was injured after slipping on the wet floor of a store.

Martha and Mickey Jefferson filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Boone Circuit Court against Dolgencorp, Michelle Hager and John Doe, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Martha Jefferson was a customer at the Dollar General Store No. 3903 in Madison on Oct. 27, 2012, when she slipped on an area of wet floor near the entryway and fell, sustaining injuries.

The complaint states Hager and John Doe were store managers, and the defendants are accused of negligence in failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition for customers.

The Jeffersons seek damages, interest, costs and attorney fees.

They are represented by attorneys Harry M. Hatfield and Matthew M. Hatfield of Hatfield & Hatfield in Madison.
