Woman says she was injured at club

CHARLESTON – A Putnam County woman is suing over claims she was injured when she allegedly fell down a dark stairway.

Pamela Barrett filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Kanawha Circuit Court against El Dorado Inc. and Matthew Samples, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Barrett was at El Dorado on Jan. 13 when she stepped through a dark doorway and fell down a flight of stairs, causing injury to her knee. El Dorado is accused of negligence in failing to remedy the hazardous condition. Samples, the owner of El Dorado, is accused of personality liability.

Barrett seeks damages, interest, costs, and attorney fees.

She is represented by attorney Scott H. Kaminski of Balgo and Kaminski in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. "Duke" Bloom.
