Cintas says company didn't pay for uniform rentals

Cintas

PRINCETON – An Ohio company is suing over claims a Princeton company has failed to pay for uniform rentals.

Cintas Corporation filed a lawsuit Oct. 9 in Mercer Circuit Court against Scott Steele Plumbing and Heating Inc., citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendant entered into a standard uniform rental service agreement with Cintas on July 15, 2013, and Cintas procured the necessary uniforms and rendered the agreed upon services to the defendant's employees from July 2013, to December 2013. Cintas says that when its invoices, which show a balance due of $1,690, went unpaid, it requested the return of the uniforms, but the defendant failed to do so. The complaint also states the defendant is liable for a buyout calculation charge for early termination of the contract, which was set to expire in July 2018. The defendant is accused of breach of contract, or, in the alternative, unjust enrichment.

Cintas seeks the more than $19,800 due in invoices and buyout calculation charges, plus interest and costs of suit.

It is represented by attorney John R. Keating of Amato Keating & Lessa in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Derek C. Swope.
