Ford truck had engine problems, complaint says

Lemonlaw

PRINCETON – A Raleigh County and a McDowell County resident are suing over claims they purchased a Ford vehicle that experienced engine defects.

Roy Brown and Berlie Christian filed a lawsuit Oct. 20 in Mercer Circuit Court against Ford Motor Company, citing the Lemon Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs purchased a new 2011 Ford F-150 valued at $44,918 from Ramey Ford Lincoln Princeton on Oct. 23, 2011, but it had to be returned to an authorized repair center 10 times in efforts to fix engine defects. The complaint states that despite the numerous attempts, the manufacturer has failed to make the vehicle conform to its warranty.

Brown and Christian seek the value of the trade-in and down payment in a sum not less than $44,918 plus $10,000 in damages for loss of use and costs of court.

They are represented by attorney William O. Huffman of Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Omar Aboulhosn.
