NEW CUMBERLAND – A California golf course maintenance company has sued for money it alleges it is owed for maintaining and providing materials for a Weirton golf course.
ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance Inc. of Carlsbad, Calif., filed a lawsuit last month in Hancock Circuit Court against Williams Country Club Inc., First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union and Thomas J. DeCapio, successor trustee, citing breach of contract.
According to the complaint, on March 14, 2011, ValleyCrest signed a contract with Williams Country Club to provide the club with materials and to perform certain labor to improve and keep the golf course, at 1000 Williams Blvd. Weirton. The suit says ValleyCrest, after performing its end of the maintenance agreement, turned in invoices to Williams Country Club, seeking payment.
The club has paid some of what it's owed, the suit states, but still owes ValleyCrest $307,204.33.
ValleyCrest seeks the amount it's owed, plus interest and costs. It is represented by attorney Jacob A. Manning of Dinsmore & Shohl in Wheeling.
