KINGWOOD – A Reedsville couple has sued General Motors, alleging the car sold to them has been nothing but trouble.
Jordan Feather and Stacy Feather, of Reedsville, filed a lawsuit filed May 1 in Preston Circuit Court, against General Motors.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 6, 2014, the plaintiffs bought a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox from Midstate Chevrolet in Sutton for $30,245. Shortly after buying it, the lawsuit states, repeated problems started taking place, including: the Bluetooth not working; the display screen shutting off intermittently; the radio screen not always coming on when the car starts; and the car losing power when the display screen shuts off.
The Feathers have had the vehicle serviced on "numerous occasions," leaving them without its use, according to the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs cite: breach of express warranty and implied warranty; and violation of state law and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
The Feathers seek to have their acceptance of the vehicle revoked and receive damages for: repair costs; loss of use; annoyance and inconvenience; attorney fees and court costs; and pre- and post-judgment interest. They are represented by attorney John N. Ellem of the Ellem Law Office in Parkersburg.
