WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -- The Greenbrier resort reopened April 2, showcasing the extensive renovations that have been underway for the past three months.

The property has completed a portion of the 63 guest rooms renovated during this phase. The remaining rooms will be completed in stages through early May.

Under the direction of renowned designer Carleton Varney, the resort guest rooms have been upgraded with new marble bathrooms featuring soaking tubs and walk-in showers, updated decor with patterned fabrics and pastel wallpapers, executive-style desks with larger workspaces and new furniture. All of the resort's 721 guest rooms have been outfitted with luxurious new bedding and linens, large plasma-screen televisions and electronic key locks. An entirely new culinary experience will debut later this summer with the opening of Hemisphere, featuring a globally influenced tasting menu and 38°80, a unique cocktail lounge.

Resort President Paul Ratchford also announced that The Greenbrier is once again open to the public.

"We are America's Resort and we will always welcome the public. Many of our activities, including The Greenbrier Spa, are now available to the public and we hope that they will come and enjoy our facilities," he said.

Ratchford added that The Greenbrier Spa would be open to the public Mondays through Thursdays with advance reservations. In addition, bunker tours will be available to registered and non-registered guests four times a day, seven days a week with all tours
departing from the North Entrance.
