  • Lawrence Carte, a Fayette County resident, worked at metal smelting plant in Alloy, from 1976 to present. He claims he was exposed to silica and silica-containing dust and, as result of exposure, suffered serious and permanent bodily injuries, incurred medical expenses and lost wages. He claims he was injured by exposure to silica-containing products and use of defective respiratory protective equipment and other devices necessary to carry out factory operations.

  • Suit claims Staats was insured under her mother's policy with Guaranty that provided underinsured motorist coverage when she was injured as a passenger in a vehicle owned and operated by Tiffany Renee Hughes on July 5, 2004. Rogers was driving another car that wrecked, causing the accident, the suit claims. Staats sustained permanent injuries to her neck, back, limbs and nervous system. Hughes' policy already has paid its full liability limit of $20,000.
