  • Wilson, an inmate at Pruntytown, claims Boliger sexually harassed her for nearly two years when he was employed at the facility as a maintenance worker. She claims he subjected her to lewd behavior, including sexually suggestive and harassing remarks and unwanted sexual advances.

  • Barker, a Berkeley Springs resident, is suing 27 companies for asbestos-related mesothelioma. He says he was exposed to and did inhale asbestos dust while employed in various jobs as a factory laborer and truck and automobile mechanic. He and his wife seek several million dollars.

  • The state seeks as much as $420,000 from the Chinese cigarette manufacturer for not setting up an escrow fund for its Columbus brand of cigarettes sold in West Virginia in 2002 and 2003.

  • Welch, a resident of Summers County, says Guarino's investment newsletter guarantees a return of the $5,000 subscription fee if someone is dissatisfied with service. Welch says he has lost "very significant funds" following defendant's investment advices and since 2000 has sought a refund. Seeks punitive damages of $1 million for "egregious conduct."

    Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company of West Virginia, a subsidiary of Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Kentucky vs. Suzanne Spillman

  • The suit claims Spillman rented a 2004 Jeep Liberty on July 2, 2004, and accepted responsibility for damage to the vehicle while in her care and possession. She subsequently was involved in an accident, and the damages total $11,301.86. Enterprise is suing for that and attorney fees, costs, interest and other relief.

  • Gray and Smith own lots in the Sweet Acres subdivision in St. Albans. In the summer of 2003, Ayash had people do "significant and substantial earth moving activities" on her adjacent land, which resulted in encroachment and damage to the lots of Gray and Smith, including damage to a pre-Civil War dam on Gray's lot. They seek costs to restore their properties to their pre-existing conditions and for the diminution of value of their lots.

  • Plaintiffs claim the defendants failed to maintain their leased property in London in a condition that meets state code. The plaintiffs say they were exposed to noxious odors and unsafe conditions, suffered great emotional distress and mental suffering, great annoyance and inconvenience and have suffered otherwise. They seek a judgment of $50,000 plus a like amount in punitive damages, interest and costs and other relief.
