Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer opens Morgantown office

Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer PLLC has opened a new office in Morgantown.

MORGANTOWN -- Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer PLLC is expanding its operations to include a new office in Morgantown.

The Morgantown office opened Jan. 1 and is located at Glenmark Centre. Attorney Timothy Linkous is in charge of the daily operations of the Morgantown office.

"As our caseload in the northern part of the state expanded, we felt that the best way to serve our clients was to open an office in Morgantown," founding member David Shuman said. "I hope that our new office will enable us to provide the best possible defense to clients in all parts of the state."

Shuman has represented physicians in malpractice litigation for more than 30 years.

Founding member and former state Supreme Court Justice John McCuskey and member Karen McElhinny represent cities and towns across West Virginia.

"In recent years, we have noticed an increase in requests for us to represent municipal clients in the northern part of the state," McCuskey said. "We believe that the best way to provide the most cost-effective representation is to open an office in Morgantown."

Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer PLLC will continue to provide legal representation to clients in central and southern West Virginia from of its main office in Charleston, but it also will maintain an active presence in Morgantown with its new office.

Officials say the Morgantown office will enable the firm to better assist clients with matters in the northern part of the state, including Morgantown, Clarksburg, Wheeling, and the Eastern Panhandle.
