CHARLESTON -- The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce will host an informational seminar on the issue of Workers' Compensation.
The half-day seminar will be held Thursday, June 29 at the Charleston House Holiday Inn in Charleston. The seminar will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will provide updates and information on many of the reforms that have taken place with the state's Workers' Compensation program, particularly regarding the new NCCI rate system that is being put into place.
Among the presenters at the seminar will be Greg Burton, President and CEO of BrickStreet Insurance, and Jane Cline, Commissioner of the West Virginia Insurance Commission. Both also will be available to answer questions from attendees.
Other presentations to be provided will include:
* Implementation of the NCCI rate system -- Harry Mahler, V.P. for Underwriting, BrickStreet Insurance
* Adoption of new medical criteria standards for claims – Dr. Jim Becker, Medical Director, BrickStreet Insurance
* Workplace safety training to reduce Workers' Comp premiums -- Dave Casto, BrickStreet Insurance
* Fraud reduction -- Dave Plants, BrickStreet Insurance
