Dear Editor:

I value my health. I also value my healthcare providers and the technologies they use to make sure that I'm cared for efficiently and effectively. That's why I am so concerned about the threat of "net neutrality," and what it might mean for healthcare in our country.

Net neutrality is a concept that will keep large broadband companies from having to expand their networks (enlarging their networks would cost billions) and, in turn, jeopardize the continuation of healthcare technology advancements.

With continued advancements in "telehealth," my doctors will be able to diagnose patients like myself more easily, consult with other doctors more quickly, and manage my medical records in a safe, secure way.

The U.S. Senate now has the chance to preserve telehealth by voting on an important bill that opposes net neutrality. Please contact Senator Jay Rockefeller and Senator Robert C. Byrd encourage them to vote in FAVOR of S. 2686 (Stevens Bill) and to OPPOSE net neutrality.
