PERSONNEL FILE: Eddy joins Martin & Seibert in Charleston

Eddy

CHARLESTON -– Dana F. Eddy has joined the Charleston office of Martin & Seibert, L.C.

Eddy's experience in business, banking, commercial and consumer litigation and consultation expands the legal services presently provided by the local office. His background complements the experience of attorneys Michelle Fox, who opened the office, George Halkias and Lisa Lilly.

"Our firm has been long recognized as a premiere litigation firm. We look for and recruit talented attorneys who can provide depth and experience," said Walter Jones, Martin & Seibert's Managing Partner. "The recent addition of Dana Eddy to our already experienced Charleston office will provide to our clients a superior litigation service, often found in only mega-firms. We are excited, and our clients have been delighted with his arrival."

Eddy is a native of Tyler County, and he was graduated from Salem College in 1980 and Harvard Law School in 1984. After his graduation, Eddy concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial and consumer litigation. Eddy practiced with Jackson & Kelly and worked for three years as the in-house Litigation Counsel for One Valley Bank. Eddy also served as General Counsel for Gaston Caperton during the last three years of the governor's second term.

Before joining Martin & Seibert in the spring of 2006, Eddy was the Managing Trial Attorney for the Nationwide Trial Division from August 2001 until January 2006. Eddy was lead counsel in almost 30 trials during that time, and he and his attorney team had a 90 percent success rate in all the office's trials.

"Martin & Seibert is everything that's great about West Virginia," Eddy said. "Hard working, honest, loyal, compassionate attorneys, committed to their clients, their colleagues and their state. The invitation to practice with this firm was extremely flattering."

Founded in 1908, Martin & Seibert is one of the oldest law firms in West Virginia. The firm's 24 attorneys, six of whom are shareholders, practice in a wide variety of areas, including litigation, real estate, collections and employment law.
