David E. Tayman Jr. v. City of Huntington and John Franklin

* Tayman claims he was assaulted, punched and kicked by Huntington police officer John Franklin in September 2004. According to the suit, Tayman was repairing the dome light in his car early one morning when Franklin approached him and told him he couldn't be on the street. When Tayman responded by asking for Franklin's badge number and the name of his supervisor, Franklin became irate and attacked Tayman, the suit claims. Tayman is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Richard Kyle Jobe v. CSX Transportation, Inc.
PA-Wayne L. Evans; J-John L. Cummings
* Jobe, a CSX employee since 1974, is suing the company for negligence claiming CSX violated the Federal Employers' Liability Act. The suit claims Jobe began working extremely long days in September 2003 in response to Hurricane Isabel. The new schedule allowed him little rest or down time. Jobe claims the work caused severe injuries to his neck and back. He is seeking compensatory damages.

Joanna McKnight v. Young Men's Christian Association aka YMCA
PA-Gregory L. Howard Jr.; J-John L. Cummings
* McKnight was swimming in the pool at the YMCA when she was struck in the head by a child sliding down a slide into the pool, the suit claims. McKnight is suing the YMCA for negligence claiming the child was not appropriately supervised in the pool area.
