PERSONNEL FILE: Martin & Seibert named national 'go-to' law firm

MARTINSBURG -– The firm of Martin & Seibert L.C. has been honored as a "Go-To" law firm for the nation's "Leading Financial Services Companies."

That publication is distributed by ALM (formerly American Lawyer Media), the company that publishes Corporate Counsel magazine.

To be included in this illustrious group, firms must first be nominated by clients working in the financial industry. The General Counsel from a given corporation's legal department is responsible for nominating a firm utilized as outside counsel for that company. Nominated firms are considered the "best of the best" among outside counsel.

Martin & Seibert was nominated, this year, by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. Nationwide became a client of the firm in 1998. Since hiring Martin & Seibert nearly a decade ago, Nationwide continues to be one the firm's largest clients.

The shareholders and attorneys at Martin & Seibert are thrilled to be included in such a prestigious list of law firms.

Walter M. Jones, the firm's managing shareholder, notes the importance of client recognition.

"While it is extremely important to be recognized by our fellow lawyers, we are humbled by this recognition by our clients." Jones said. "Martin & Seibert L.C.'s nomination by General Counsel as one of the 'Go-To' firms across the country is the greatest achievement that I can imagine.

"We strive to make all of our clients feel the same."

Jones was individually recognized within the publication for his litigation experience and his defense of commercial, extra-contractual and class actions.

Founded in 1908, Martin & Seibert is one of the oldest law firms in West Virginia. The firm's 24 attorneys, five of whom are shareholders, practice in a wide variety of areas, including litigation, real estate, collections, and employment law. Learn more at www.martinandseibert.com.
