CHARLESTON -- Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC recently announced the magazine Corporate Counsel has highlighted it as one of the "Go-To law firms" for 2008.
This distinction is awarded every year by a systematic approach. Each of the general counsels for the top 500 companies in the United States are asked to list which outside law firms they turn to for assistance in a variety of practice areas, including litigation, corporate transactions/mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment, intellectual property, securities, Canadian law and international law.
E. I. du Pont de Nemours Company again has named Spilman as one of its "go to" firms for labor and employment, as they have for the past several years. American International Group (AIG) recently named Spilman in the litigation category.
According to Corporate Counsel, "Since no firms can 'buy their way on,' less than one-half of one percent of all of the law firms in the U.S. and abroad are included."
