CHARLESTON -- State Attorney General Darrell McGraw is urging West Virginia consumers to make sure that their vehicles have not been recalled for safety reasons.
Over the last couple of months, recalls have been issued by vehicle manufacturers that affect nearly 1.5 million vehicles. Recalled vehicles were made between 1997 and today.
"Ensuring the safety of West Virginia consumers is one of my primary concerns," McGraw said in a press release. "Consumers sometimes do not realize when a product is recalled and making sure that West Virginians are informed about these recalls will help keep our highways safe."
McGraw urges consumers to visit his Web site at www.wvago.gov or the federal government's recalled products website at www.recalls.gov to check the list of recalled vehicles and other products.
Any West Virginian who has questions about this or any other consumer matter is urged to contact McGraw's consumer protection division by calling 1-800-368-8808 or e-mailing consumer@wvago.gov.
