Nichols Harper

CHARLESTON -- Brenda Nichols Harper, Vice President and General Counsel for the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, will be among the Democrats seeking to be nominated in Kanawha County's seven-member 30th House District.

"I am thrilled that Brenda has decided to put her name on the ballot and to seek a seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates," Chamber President Steve Roberts said. "Brenda would make an ideal member of the Legislature, given not only her experience and knowledge but also the respect she has gained among delegates and senators of both parties and of differing philosophies.

"She has worked tirelessly to advance policies and to advocate for reforms that have improved West Virginia, and I know she will bring the same passion and enthusiasm as an elected official."

This is the second time that a West Virginia Chamber staff member has sought election to the Legislature.

In 1994 Evan Jenkins, then the organization's General Counsel, ran and won a seat in the 15th District of the House of Delegates.
