CHARLESTON -– The law firm of Spilman Thomas & Battle is pleased to announce that Kevin L. Carr has rejoined the firm as a full-time member.
Last year, Carr assumed a part-time status as Counsel at the firm and began serving as General Counsel and Executive Assistant to President Edwin H. Welch at the University of Charleston. This recent development has Carr returning to Spilman full-time to concentrate on representing clients in traditional labor and employment law matters.
Carr stressed the value of his time at the University of Charleston and the important relationship the firm has with the school.
"UC is truly on the move," Carr states. "I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will continue to be a part of the University. UC is a dynamic fixture in Charleston and the opportunities there are boundless; Dr. Welch and his team are top shelf. I look forward to having the opportunity to broaden that relationship given this new arrangement."
Carr believes that his highest and best professional use is to advise, counsel and aggressively represent West Virginian, regional and national clients on traditional labor law matters and employment matters, his areas of emphasis during the entirety of his tenure with Spilman. "Our firm strives to provide exceptional, A to B, services to our clients and I am thrilled to rejoin the team full-time toward the end of fulfilling that mission."
Carr has been with Spilman for nearly 13 years. He received his B.A. and J.D. from West Virginia University.
As one of the region's largest law firms, Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC offers a full-service legal practice with locations in Charleston, Morgantown and Wheeling in West Virginia; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Winston-Salem, N.C. and Roanoke, Va.
