CHARLESTON -- "The Law Works," West Virginia's only locally produced television program about the law and how it affects daily life, will host a special one-hour call-in program on Feb. 21 from 8 to 9 p.m. on West Virginia PBS.

A panel of experts and host Dan Ringer will field questions about family law issues including no-fault divorce, non-traditional relationships, property division, child support, custody, and domestic violence. The number to call that evening is 800-375-4049.

Ringer's guests will be attorneys J. Douglas Crane and James Douglas. Crane is in private practice in Morgantown and Douglas is a family law practitioner in Sutton.

Ringer, is a past-president of the West Virginia State Bar, has taught and lectured concerning legal matters at the college and university level since 1976, and is a member of the graduate faculty of the WVU College of Human Resources and Education. In 1996 Ringer was named the first West Virginia Lawyer Citizen of the Year by the West Virginia Bar Foundation.

In 2000, he honored as the American Bar Association Practitioner of the Year by the ABA's Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee. In 2001 he received the President's Award from the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

"The Law Works" is a weekly show discussing legal issues that effect daily life. The program's goal is to provide West Virginians with important information concerning the legal system from a national, regional and local perspective.

"The Law Works" is produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting funding and production assistance from the West Virginia State Bar, The West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the West Virginia University College of Law, the Monongalia County Bar Association and ALPS Professional Insurance.
