PERSONNEL FILE: Kay Casto & Chaney adds Bowers to Morgantown office

CHARLESTON -- Kay Casto & Chaney has announced that Debra A. Bowers has joined its Morgantown office as a member.

"Having Debra Bowers in our Morgantown office is an asset to our entire firm. She is a talented and dedicated professional," said Craig M. Kay, a member of the firm's management committee.

Bowers has more than 16 years legal practice experience. She was previously with Kay Casto & Chaney for about six years. Local Family Law Judges and practioners have recognized her for her work as a mediator in Domestic Law cases and she is listed among the Best Lawyers in America for Domestic Practice Law. Her practice areas include Family/Domestic Law, Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Small Corporations.

A Morgantown native, Bowers attended West Virginia University and received a B.A. degree in 1983 and an M.S. degree in 1986 in Vocational Evaluation and Rehabilitative Counseling. In 1991, she received her J.D. from Ohio Northern University. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, the Supreme Court of Appeals for West Virginia, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

She is a frequent lecturer in the area of Domestic Law, having been a speaker at many continuing legal education seminars. Bowers is a past member of the Board of Directors, and was the 1999 Chair, of the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a former president and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Morgantown Community Trust.
