HUNTINGTON -- Three Huddleston Bolen practice areas have been recognized for their exceptional abilities and standing in the recently published Chambers, USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2008, a national publication.
The firm practice areas recognized in the publication were Commercial Litigation, Real Estate and Corporate and Commercial Law. Selected for individual recognition by Chambers were firm partners Thomas Murray and Marc Williams.
Since its first U.S. edition was published in 2003, the Chambers USA guide has staked its claim among the most respected referral guides of the leading law firms and individuals in the country. Because of its extensive research method, which includes numerous in-depth client and lawyer interviews, this guide is one that carries weight in the industry.
The firm as a whole was recognized for its efforts in the areas of corporate and commercial law, real estate law and commercial litigation. In the area of general commercial litigation, the publication noted that the firm is adept at sometimes difficult cases, "Trying complex cases in state and federal courts, this "great group of 35" takes a generalist approach to its litigation practice. The firm's litigation group works closely with its strong corporate team, offering a comprehensive service."
The firm's real estate group was recognized as being "best known for its work for industrial clients, particularly in matters related to railroads. It also handles commercial and residential work for businesses, individuals and financial institutions."
The firm's corporate and commercial law department was recognized as being "adept at transactions both locally and abroad, as demonstrated by its 2007 sale of a client's international operations. Satisfied clients report very positive experiences and good service on major transactions."
Murray was honored in the area of corporate and commercial law. It was noted in the directory that Murray's "peers and clients alike admire his outstanding reputation and experience." With the firm for more than 26 years, Murray has built a substantial practice in the areas of banking, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. Murray has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 1995 and as a West Virginia SuperLawyer.
Williams was awarded the state's Top Ranked designation for 2008 in the area of commercial litigation. In the publication, it was noted that Williams is an "outstanding trial attorney distinguished on a national scale." His diverse practice includes trials and appeals of toxic tort, professional liability, product liability, premises liability, admiralty, insurance, employment law and complex commercial litigation matters. In addition to the Chambers USA designation, he is recognized in the Best Lawyers in America in six categories and as a West Virginia SuperLawyer. He is one of two lawyers in West Virginia to receive these designations.
