CHARLESTON -- Kay Casto & Chaney has announced it has named Richard E. Boyle Jr. to its management committee.
"We are fortunate that we have an attorney of Rich's caliber as part of our management team," said Michael T. Chaney, a member of the firm's management committee. "He is a talented and dedicated professional."
Before joining Kay Casto & Chaney in 1998, Boyle served as West Virginia State Tax Commissioner and State Lottery Director. He has served the State of West Virginia in other positions throughout the years.
"The administrative experience and knowledge that Rich gained while serving as State Tax Commissioner and Lottery Director will be tremendously helpful to us as we continue to serve our broad client base from our offices in Charleston and Morgantown," Chaney said.
Currently, his practice is concentrated in state and local taxation, estate planning, estate administration and gaming law. Boyle graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1976 and his J.D. degree in 1979 from the West Virginia University College of Law.
Boyle is chairman of the Taxation Committee of the West Virginia State Bar. He is on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Estate Planning Council and is a past President of the West Virginia Tax Institute Inc.
He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Kanawha County Bar Association, the Charleston Area Tax Group, and is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Association of Tax Administrators.
Boyle also serves as a Trustee on the West Virginia Investment Management Board. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Lawyers Society.
