WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Kent Hartsog, group controller with Patriot Coal Corporation, has been elected as the 2008-09 chairman of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Hartsog succeeds Clarence E. "CEM" Martin III with the law firm of Martin & Seibert.
Hartsog was elected chairman by the Board of Directors during the Chamber's 72nd Annual Meeting, which was held Aug. 27-29 at The Greenbrier.
The board also approved the election of the following officers for 2008-09 terms:
* F. Scott Rotruck, vice president of corporate development for Chesapeake Energy Corporation, as vice chairman;
* Timothy E. Huffman, a partner with Jackson Kelly PLLC, as secretary; and
* J. Thomas Jones, president and CEO of West Virginia United Health System, as treasurer.
In addition, nine individuals were newly elected to the Board of Directors:
* William G. Carper, resident vice President of Norfolk Southern Corporation;
* James Chapman, vice president of Century Aluminum of W.Va., Inc.;
* James W. Dailey, chief executive officer of W. Harley Miller Contractors, Inc.;
* B. Keith Fulton, president of Verizon West Virginia;
* Wayne Morgan, President, West Virginia American Water Company;
* Jeffrey C. Moore, vice president of manufacturing for Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia, Inc.;
* David Rader, president and CEO of West Virginia Mutual Insurance Company;
* Clayton W. Rice, president of the West Virginia Region of Huntington Bank; and
* Don Wagenheim, chairman of the H. E. Neumann Company.
They join 40 other directors who will serve on the W.Va. Chamber's Board during 2008-09.
