Woman says man working for Whittaker-owned car dealer hit her

Whittaker

WINFIELD -- A Putnam County couple has filed suit against a company owned by Powerball winner Jack Whittaker, alleging the woman was injured after one of the company's drivers collided with her vehicle.

Anna and Matthew Conn claim Anita was involved in an accident with Billy Ray Wright, an employee of Blackburn Pre-Owned Autos who was driving the company's 2003 Ford Ranger, according to a complaint filed Sept. 16 in Putnam Circuit Court.

Wright collided with Anna's 2000 Subaru Legacy on Sept. 18, 2006, near Scott Depot, the suit states.

As a result of the accident, Anna has sustained unspecified injuries, pain and suffering, loss of the ability to enjoy life, emotional distress and mental anguish, impairment of earning capacity and medical costs, according to the complaint.

Matthew claims he has lost his ability to enjoy the company, companionship, society, affection, sexual relation, cooperation, services and aid of Anna.

In the two-count suit, the Conns are seeking a judgment in a jury-determined amount, along with costs, attorney's fees and pre- and post-judgment interest.

Daniel L. Hostein of Scott Depot will be representing them.
