* Duncan was working as an overnight security guard at the Kenova Big Sandy. He was working outdoors as the company was having a tent sale. The suit alleges that Stephens, a Kenova police officer, approached Duncan wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He claims Stephens shot him in the head with no warning. Duncan survived the attack and claims the Kenova Police Department orchestrated a cover-up in order to protect Stephens. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages

* Barbosa and 20 other plaintiffs are suing the Wayne County Board of Education after a county bus driver, Ray Scott, was allegedly involved in a collision with another vehicle. The suit claims Scott failed call authorities or inspect the children for injuries. He instead told the children not to tell anyone about the collision because he would "go to jail", the suit claims. The plaintiffs are seeking punitive damages.

* The plaintiffs ordered a pizza from Wagner's restaurant in December 2007. When they proceeded to eat the pizza, they allegedly found a used prophylactic/condom under the pizza inside the box. They then became sick and went to St. Mary's Hospital in order to receive treatment, according to the suit. The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
