WINFIELD -- The Putnam County Commission has approved a recount of four precincts in the Circuit Judge race between incumbent Ed Eagloski and apparent victor Phil Stowers.
Eagloski on Thursday asked for a recount in four of the county's 48 precincts. As the results of the Nov. 4 election currently stand, Eagloski lost by about 350 votes to Stowers, a Democrat.
The recount -- on precincts 6-1, 6-2, 8-1 and 8-2 -- is scheduled for Tuesday. Those are precincts at Hurricane Middle School and Connor Street Elementary in Hurricane.
Later Friday, Stowers filed papers allowing the recount to continue if Eagloski were to go ahead in any of those precincts.
Eagloski paid a $300 bond for the recount. He would have to pay for the cost of the recount if the result isn't overturned. Stowers also paid a $300 bond with his request.
