PERSONNEL FILE: Emch named to BTI Client Services All-Star Team

CHARLESTON -- Jackson Kelly is pleased to announce that A.L. Emch, a member in the firm's Charleston office, was named to the 2009 BTI Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms.

BTI recognized only 176 attorneys worldwide, and Emch is the only attorney named from West Virginia.

The BTI Consulting Group, a Boston-based research and consulting firm, conducts a yearly survey with more than 270 General Counsel at Fortune 1000 organizations and large professional service firms. The BTI Client Service All-Stars are named by clients who believe that the lawyer nominated "delivered outstanding legal skills combined with practical business knowledge, extraordinary attention to client needs and noteworthy responsiveness."

Emch is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and practices in the Litigation Department. His practice is focused on the representation of defendants in trial and appellate litigation in both state and federal courts, with emphases on personal injury (deliberate intent cases and industrial accidents), products liability (especially aviation), toxic torts, class actions, mass torts, and other complex litigation.

Emch is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation, and the West Virginia Bar Foundation. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, IADC, and a former President of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. He has held a variety of leadership positions with Jackson Kelly, including serving as the chair of the firm's Executive Committee and its managing member for five years.
