Candi Quinn, Administratix of the Estate of Richard Quinn v. Garden State Insurance Company

* In December 2000, Richard Quinn became insured with Garden State Insurance Company and purchasing a 5 year term to age 80 insurance policy. In January 2007, the policy lapsed for non payment. Quinn applied for reinstatement in March 2007, paid the premium and the policy was reinstated. In August 2007, after the policy lapsed again, Quinn applied for reinstatement in October 2007 and was reinstated on November 28, 2007. Quinn died in a motor vehicle accident on November 24, 2007. Candi Quinn submitted a claim for life insurance benefits in February 2008 but was denied on the basis that the Richard Quinn made a misrepresentation on his March 2007 application for reinstatement. Candi Quinn is seeking judgment for damages, pre and post judgment interest, costs, and attorney fees.

Inn at Morgantown dba Residence Inn by Marriott v Cheryl Haggard

* Cheryl Haggard, her husband and mother-in-law were guests at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Her bulldogs also stayed in the room. Residence Inn claims that during their stay, significant damages were incurred to the carpet, furniture, bed, mattress and window treatments. In addition to damages of $6800, Residence Inn lost income for the 19 days it took to repair the damage. Judgment is being sought for compensatory damages, incidental and consequential damages that include lost profits and punitive damages.
