* George White has rented a house in Huntington to E. Dennis White since June 2007. The rent was agreed at $1,000 per month, according to White. The suit claims the tenant has failed to pay any rent since July 2007 and is now in arrears in the amount of $23,000. George White also claims the tenant has failed to keep the property in proper upkeep. He is seeking $23,000 in owed rent and also money for any damage done to the property.

Dr. Victor S. York and Dr. Jennifer L. Kendall v. Mark Stevens, 1st Class Homebuilders, LLC

* Drs. York and Kendall, two dentists who operate a practice in Chesapeake, Ohio, hired Stevens to build a 3,528-square-foot home in Raleigh County. The home was to be a turn key project with a total contract price of $472,000. Drs. York and Kendall claim they have paid the homebuilder $450,000 and he has abandoned the job. The house will cost $65,000 to complete and the couple is seeking $80,000 in damages in order to complete the house.

* Doan and his Parkersburg-based company, Singer Sheet Metal Company, allegedly applied for credit with Louis. T. Ollesheimer in order to purchase materials and supplies. According to Ollesheimer, a Michigan-based company, Doan has failed to make payments on his purchases and now owes the company $40,582.25. Ollesheimer is seeking damages in that amount.

*Roush was implanted with a device to treat her pelvic organ prolapse by Mitchell E. Nutt, M.D., at St. Mary's Hospital. She claims she has suffered permanent injury and physical deformity as a result of the implant and its manufacturing defects. She is seeking punitive damages.
