CHARLESTON -– Jackson Kelly attorney Thomas J. Hurney Jr. has co-authored "A Practical Analysis of HCQIA Immunity," which appears in the fall 2009 issue of DRI's In-House Defense Quarterly.
A national publication of DRI, In House Quarterly addresses specific needs of in-house defense practitioners and presents a combination of feature full-length articles written by experienced DRI members and substantive information and reports acquired from leading content providers. DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation.
Hurney is the manager of the Litigation Department of Jackson Kelly in its Charleston office. He has a varied statewide practice focusing mainly on jury trials in cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death, with substantial trial experience in actions brought under West Virginia's Medical Professional Liability Act. He is a member of DRI, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and immediate past president of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.
Hurney's co-authors are Aaron Alexander, general counsel of Thomas Health System; F. Christian Gall Jr., associate general counsel at Charleston Area Medical Center; and Richard D. Jones, Flaherty, Sensabaugh & Bonasso.
