CHARLESTON -- Supreme Court Chief Justice Brent D. Benjamin plans to speak to regional meetings of the West Virginia State Bar in Martinsburg and Moorefield this week.
The regional meetings are held annually throughout the state, and the Chief Justice is attending as many as his schedule will accommodate. The meetings begin at 10:30 a.m., include a lunch, and usually end by 1:30 p.m.
Benjamin will attend a meeting in Martinsburg on Monday and in Moorefield on Tuesday. Last week, he attended meetings in Logan, Charleston, and Beckley.
In each location, he tailors his speech to the local Bar and timely matters important to the West Virginia judicial system.
The meetings provide a total of three continuing legal credit hours in legal ethics, office management, substance abuse, and/or the elimination of bias.
