PERSONNEL FILE: Rob Sellards joins Nelson Mullins in Huntington

HUNTINGTON -– An experienced litigator has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in its newly opened Huntington office.

Robert M. Sellards joins as a partner and brings considerable practice experience in medical malpractice, insurance defense, insurance bad faith and product liability, and motor carrier liability.

Sellards' extensive medical malpractice/litigation experience includes the defense of numerous professional malpractice/negligent credentialing and negligent privileging cases, including legal malpractice and medical malpractice cases. Some of his specific experience includes representing clients in multiple purchases of physician practices by healthcare facilities, assisting in the development and updating of hospital policies and procedures, representing and defending physicians and nurses during medical licensing matters in West Virginia, and providing general corporate counsel to multiple hospitals.

A 1998 graduate of Marshall University with dual degrees in Healthcare and Business Management, he earned his Juris Doctor in 2001 from Duquesne University. He practices in West Virginia and Kentucky.

Nelson Mullins opened its 12th location in Huntington on Dec. 1, with the addition of well-known litigators Marc Williams, Bob Massie and Melissa Foster Bird. The addition of Sellards is a further step in the strategic growth planned for the tri-state regional office of the national law firm, said Williams, who serves as managing partner of the West Virginia office.
