HUNTINGTON -- Attorney Tamela J. White from the law firm Farrell, Farrell & Farrell has authored an article entitled "The Medicare Secondary Payer Act and Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP Extension Act of 2007: Implications for Claim Management and Resolution for Liability Insurance Plans" for the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) -- April 2010 Defense Counsel Journal.
The article has brought much attention to the issue and people around the country have contacted Tammy requesting a presentation on the topic. She recently presented "Claim Reporting Under the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007" at the Health Care Law Seminar in Charleston.
White is a senior litigator in the firm's medical malpractice and product liability litigation sections and she was the first female trial lawyer from West Virginia to be elected to the International Association of Defense Counsel. With a nursing degree from The Ohio State University, she had 10 years of experience as a critical care and oncology nurse and hospital administrator before starting her legal career.
