PERSONNEL FILE: Jackson Kelly attorneys honored as Bar Foundation Fellows

Charleston-–Jackson Kelly PLLC attorneys Ellen S. Cappellanti and William J. Powell will be honored as West Virginia State Bar Foundation Fellows during the 12th Annual Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on April 29.

The honor of fellow recognizes those lawyers and members of the judiciary whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession with the individuals selected reflecting the diverse nature of the legal profession in West Virginia.

Cappellanti is a member of the firm's Business and Commercial Law Department. She assists clients in a wide variety of commercial transactions, including financings, leasings, acquisitions and real estate development projects.

Cappellanti also regularly represents debtors, creditors and trustees in business bankruptcies and out of court restructurings.

Powell is the managing member of the firm's Martinsburg office. His practice focuses on the defense of civil litigation and white-collar criminal matters.

Powell represents individuals and businesses in personal injury, medical professional liability, product liability and business litigation. His criminal work focuses upon the representation of clients in investigations conducted by government agencies such as the Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency, Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, MSHA and other agencies.

Powell also provides advice on internal investigations and compliance matters.
