CLARKSBURG -– Susan S. Brewer, CEO of Steptoe & Johnson, has announced that Rick Mackessy has been hired as the Chief Financial Officer for the law firm.
Mackessy possesses over 30 years of experience in accounting and financial management. Mackessy has served in a wide range of roles including financial management, interim management, restructuring and mergers and acquisitions. He brings experience in financial reporting, budgeting, financial modeling and cash forecasting, as well as development of key financial metrics that help management focus on important performance issues.
At Steptoe & Johnson, Mackessy will assume management responsibilities that ensure the fiscal health and wellness of the law firm and its ancillary businesses.
"Rick has been the CFO of several companies, directing all aspects of the financial management function with special emphasis on controlling costs and improving profitability," began Brewer. "His expertise and strategic counsel will be most beneficial to our firm," she said.
Mackessy is a graduate of John Carroll University (B.A.; Business Administration) and is licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio, home to the firm's Columbus office. He is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
