Dukes
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Legal Media Group has named Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough Managing Partner David Dukes as one of the world's top five product liability defense lawyers based on nominations received for its Best of the Best of 2010 Expert Guides.
The media group, a part of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, since 1994 has published Expert Guides dedicated to leading individuals in the legal industry. The publication profiles individuals considered by clients and peers to be the best in their field. The Best of the Best compiles the top 25 practitioners in 11 areas of law.
Dukes was named for his product liability practice, which focuses on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, business litigation, technology law and litigation, and coordination of national litigation. He has served as national trial counsel for companies in the pharmaceutical, computer, and consumer products industries. He speaks throughout the country on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation and computer and technology-related litigation issues.
He is a past president of DRI, the 22,000 member national professional organization of lawyers who defend companies and individuals in civil litigation. Mr. Dukes also is the former board chairman and former president of the Lawyers for Civil Justice, a national coalition supporting excellence, fairness, and improvements within the civil justice system at both the state and national levels.
Legal Media Group sends more than 4,000 questionnaires to senior practitioners or in-house counsel involved in each practice area in more than 60 jurisdictions, asking them to nominate leading practitioners based on their work and reputation. The results are analyzed and screened for firm, network, and alliance bias. The list of experts is then discussed and refined with advisers in legal centers worldwide.
Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 400 attorneys and government relations professionals practicing from 12 office locations in the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
