CHARLESTON -– The annual report filing deadline for all corporations, limited liability companies (LLC), professional limited liability companies (PLLC), voluntary associations, and limited partnerships licensed to do business in West Virginia is quickly approaching.
Annual reports and the $25 filing fee must be received by the Secretary of State's Office by 5 p.m. on June 30 to avoid being assessed a late fee of $100 in addition to the $25 filing fee.
If the report, filing fee, and any additional late fee are not received by close of business on October 28, organizations will be administratively dissolved or revoked. Once an organization is revoked they cannot continue to transact business without going through a reinstatement process.
More and more business owners are filing their annual reports quickly and easily online using www.business4wv.com.
As of June 7, about 16,000 organizations have taken advantage of the online filing. That's about 7,000 more than had filed online at this point last year. Business owners can access the online portal 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Filing online saves time and provides immediate and accurate integration of customers' updates into the Secretary of State's database. Filers will receive electronic confirmation when the Secretary of State's Office accepts filing.
Business owners who have questions about annual reports can call the Business and Licensing Division of the Secretary of State's Office at (304) 558-8000.
