LETTER TO THE EDITOR: State Chamber supports Greenbrier Classic

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

Any discussion about the state of West Virginia's proposed financial participation in The Greenbrier Classic needs to be viewed as an investment in our state's future.

We have much of which to be proud in our great state and The Greenbrier, and its magnificent employees are at the top of the list.

What better way to help the nation and world know about the beauty of our state and wonderful people than to show off this rare gem? The Smithsonian has the Hope Diamond; San Francisco has the Golden Gate; and West Virginia has grandest of all in the gorgeous and historic, Greenbrier Hotel.

The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce supports more investment in telling the world about our state's many assets and attributes. We salute The Greenbrier and those who would invest more in exposing the world to the beauty and majesty of this world class resort and its newest and most exciting event.

The West Virginia Chamber is our state's largest association of employers, whose members employ over half of West Virginia's workforce. The Chamber believes an investment in The Greenbrier Classic enables decision makers and corporate leaders throughout the United States to see the beauty, wonder and awe of West Virginia.

We thank Greenbrier owner Jim Justice, Gov. Joe Manchin, and all the sponsors and attendees of The Greenbrier Classic for telling the West Virginia story in media markets that our state could not otherwise have afforded to reach. We support additional opportunities to reach out and tell the West Virginia story.

Sincerely,
Tom Boggs

Editor's Note: Boggs is a vice president of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
