PERSONNEL FILE: Woody elected Fellow of ABA

CHARLESTON -– The law firm of Spilman Thomas & Battle is pleased to announce Charles L. Woody, a member in its Charleston office, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

The American Bar Foundation's by-laws state that Fellows shall not exceed 1/3 of 1 percent of a given state's lawyer population and provide that each Fellow must be recognized as a person of outstanding achievement and exceptional character.

"Chuck's election as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation is a perfect example of Spilman's commitment to excellence and value," Mike Basile, managing member of the firm, said.

"We could not be more proud of his accomplishments and are elated that his hard work and dedication have been recognized by the Foundation."

Woody's practice areas include labor & employment, litigation and appellate work. He is consistently ranked by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. Woody received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1969 and his J.D. from Florida State University in 1972, and he has been with the firm since 1974.

Woody joins two other Spilman attorneys as Fellows of the American Bar -– Sue Seibert Farnsworth and G. Thomas Battle.
