State Law Library hosts Relatives as Parents meeting

CHARLESTON -– The State Law Library will host the first meeting of Kanawha Valley Relatives as Parents (KV-RAP) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25.

The group's mission is to share experiences and raise awareness of the dynamics of raising children of relatives, including the financial, educational, and emotional issues involved.

The Library will provide information on community resources and assistance available to those who have custody of children of relatives, either formally or informally. Laura Lou Harbert, Family Liaison from Mission West Virginia, will discuss the Relatives as Parents Assistance Program.

The meeting will be held in Conference Room E-314, located in the East Wing of the Capitol. Metered parking is available in the surface lots near the Culture Center and the parking structure on Piedmont Avenue as well as along California Avenue.

No registration is required and the meeting is open to the public.
