Law Library hosts relatives as parents meeting

CHARLESTON -– The State Law Library will host the monthly meeting of Kanawha Valley Relatives as Parents (KV-RAP) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 23.

The group's mission is to share experiences and raise awareness of the dynamics of raising children of relatives, including financial, educational, and emotional issues involved.

The Library will provide information on community resources and assistance available to those who, either formally or informally, have custody of relatives' children.

Laura Lou Harbert, family liaison from Mission West Virginia, will be present to explain the Relatives as Parents Assistance Program.

The meeting will be held in Room E-314 of the East Wing of the State Capitol. Metered parking is available on California Avenue and is free on Saturdays.

For directions or additional information, call (304) 558-2607. The session is open to the public and anyone who is involved in raising children of relatives is welcome to share experiences and insights. No registration is required.
