Mahaney

HUNTINGTON -- John H. Mahaney, a trial lawyer and partner at Huddleston Bolen, has been named a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a highly-selective honorary society established to reflect and recognize the face of the American bar in the 21st century.

Membership in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) is by invitation only and limited to 3,500 Fellows nationwide; less than one-half percent of all lawyers in the U.S. The group estimates that there will be only 28 Fellows named from West Virginia this year.

According to the organization, the LCA selects Fellows based on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. Aggressively diverse in its composition, the society represents the best in law among its membership.

"J.H. Mahaney has been a respected partner at Huddleston Bolen for some time. His inclusion into the Litigation Counsel of America is a statement to his success as a trial lawyer," said Tom Gilpin, chair of the firm's management committee.

Mahaney has extensive trial and appellate experience in commercial and tort litigation. He has represented transportation companies, energy companies, mineral owners, resorts, commercial real estate developers and other commercial clients in class actions, mass tort matters, catastrophic tort claims, commercial and complex litigation, business litigation, construction litigation, professional liability claims and employment law claims. Mr. Mahaney has handled legal matters for clients in state and federal courts in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and North Carolina, with an outstanding record of success in some of the region's most difficult trial venues.

Huddleston Bolen is a business-oriented law firm with offices located in Huntington and Charleston, West Virginia and Ashland and Louisville, Kentucky. The firm, founded in 1871, represents clients in many practice groups, including banking and finance, health care, insurance, litigation, natural resources, real estate and transportation.
