Hussell
Jernigan
CHARLESTON -– Dinsmore & Shohl is pleased to announce that John Hussell has been named the managing partner for Dinsmore & Shohl's Charleston office.
Hussell assumes the position from Henry Jernigan, who served as the managing partner for the firm's Charleston office since it opened in 2002. Jernigan will continue to practice with the firm and will co-manage with Hussell during a 12- to 24-month transition period.
Jernigan, who has practiced law in West Virginia for nearly 40 years, said, "John is recognized statewide for being the premier attorney for family wealth planning. He has grown that field with the firm and will apply that growth to managing the office."
Under Jernigan's leadership, Dinsmore & Shohl has grown to nearly 60 attorneys in the mountain state in just nine years. Hussell said he is honored to continue the hard work that Jernigan has put into the firm.
"Henry built this office from the ground up, expanding the firm's presence to include three West Virginia offices. He has assembled an excellent team in all areas of law and has been a mentor to everyone here."
Hussell is a member of the firm's Board of Directors and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has practiced law for 12 years assisting individual and institutional clients in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving, and asset protection planning.
Hussell has been selected for numerous awards including being listed in Best Lawyers, West Virginia Super Lawyers and is a recipient of The State Journal's Generation Next: 40 under 40 award. Hussell earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.A. from Marshall University.
