CHARLESTON -— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that Timothy D. Houston, an associate in the Charleston office, was named an Associate Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Fewer than 250 attorneys are selected as Associate Fellows. Based on a strong nomination and LCA's independent review of his biography and credentials, Houston was selected for inclusion in the society.

Houston's primary areas of practice are general litigation and mine safety and health law. He is admitted to practice in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Houston received his B.A. from College of the Holy Cross in 2004 and his J.D., summa cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law in 2008. While attending Duquesne, he was a member of Duquesne Law Review and received numerous academic awards. Most recently, Houston was named a Rising Star in Civil Litigation Defense by West Virginia Super Lawyers magazine.
