MORGANTOWN -- Steptoe & Johnson is pleased to announce that Andrew S. Graham, an attorney in the firm's Morgantown office, has been promoted from Associate to Of Counsel.
Graham focuses his practice in the areas of energy and mineral law (coal, coalbed methane, and oil and gas), real estate, and commercial transactions. Graham regularly assists clients with mineral title examinations; coordinating and performing due diligence; mineral acquisitions, including acquisitions from bankruptcy debtors; and issues relating to denial of access by surface owners and surface damage claims arising from oil and gas or coal operations.
Graham is active in the energy industry where he serves as a member of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation, the Michael L. Benedum Chapter of the American Association of Professional Landmen, as well as the West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association and he is also an active participant in the Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia. Additionally, Graham is a member of the Business Law Committee of the West Virginia State Bar and assists as a volunteer on the Legal Services for the Poor Committee, also part of the West Virginia State Bar.
A graduate of West Virginia University (J.D.; Order of the Coif) and Shepherd University (B.S., summa cum laude), Graham joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2005 after working as an attorney in the firm of Everhart, Brown, Sabatino & Graham. Prior to becoming an attorney, Graham was a broadcast journalist and sportscaster.
