HUNTINGTON -- The members of the Huntington law firm Farrell, Farrell & Farrell are pleased to announce the change in the firm's name effective Feb. 1.

Farrell, Farrell & Farrell is now Farrell, White & Legg. Paul T. Farrell Sr., a former member, was sworn into office as a judge for the Circuit Court of Cabell County on Feb. 14.

With that judicial appointment, the remaining members -- Michael J. Farrell, Joseph M. Farrell Jr., Tamela J .White, Charlotte Hoffman Norris and Erik Legg -- are pleased to introduce the new firm.

Farrell, White & Legg will continue the tradition upon which Michael J. Farrell, Paul T. Farrell Sr. and Joseph M. Farrell Jr. established the law firm: the tradition of high-quality legal representation and counseling of their clients.

The firm will also continue its legacy of community support to Cabell County and West Virginians in building communities and a strong economic future for years to come.

The new name appropriately provides the recognition that Tamela J. White and Erik W. Legg deserve for their efforts in developing the firm's clientele and reputation.

White is a member and one of the founding attorneys of the firm. Her undergraduate degree is in Nursing from The Ohio State University. White practiced clinical nursing and in various administrative roles during that career. Her law degree is from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University. White will matriculate from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a Masters in Public Health (with an emphasis upon health policy and economics) in May.

A premier trial lawyer, she was the first female trial lawyer from West Virginia to be elected to the International Association of Defense Counsel. She currently is serving her second term on the IADC's Foundation Board. White is the manager of the firm's medical malpractice defense and health care law practices, provides health care regulatory and licensure counseling, and also provides legal services and counseling in other areas of the law including product liability, employment, insurance dispute and complex litigation teams.

Legg is a member and has been with the firm for more than 10 years. He is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and Defense Research Institute, and is a Board Member of Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. Legg's primary areas of practice are pharmaceutical and medical products liability, medical professional malpractice, workplace exposure and injury litigation, and employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims.

Legg was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America 2011 for Medical Malpractice Law specialty. He was recently selected to the 2011 class of Leadership West Virginia, a program that identifies emerging leaders throughout West Virginia and enhances their knowledge of the challenges facing the state.
